A chauvinist act, by a president who is already plagued by corruption scandals and sexism,” he told CNN on Thursday. But when that didn’t assuage public anger, he doubled down in a widely-broadcast Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) meeting and defiantly refused to resign, to the applause of the mostly male audience. The uproar over the kiss, he told CNN, is just the beginning of a longer fight. “I was not surprised by that at all,” Juan Rubiales told El Mundo of the kiss. The person some of us knew privately but now the whole world can actually see him,” she told CNN.

CNN —The president of the Spanish government’s High Council of Sport (CSD) says he will take action against Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales if the soccer body fails to do so. Speaking to the “El Larguero” program on Spanish outlet Cadena SER later on Tuesday, CSD president Victor Francos said the council is willing to get involved after receiving three formal complaints about Rubiales’ actions. “We have been very clear with RFEF on the need to open the procedures established by the Sports Law,” Francos said. In a statement announcing the extraordinary general assembly, RFEF said it has opened “the internal Federation processes in relation to integrity.”Rising criticismFrancos’ comments come amid increasing pressure on Rubiales. “The apologies made by Mr. Rubiales are not enough.

After learning about its Russian roots from Reuters, it removed Pushwoosh software from seven public-facing apps, citing security concerns. The U.S. Army said it had removed an app containing Pushwoosh code in March because of the same concerns. Pushwoosh code has been embedded into almost 8,000 apps in the Google and Apple app stores, according to Appfigures, an app intelligence website. "We haven't found any clear sign of deceptive or malicious intent in Pushwoosh's activity, which certainly doesn't diminish the risk of having app data leaking to Russia," he added. The CDC apps that contained Pushwoosh code included the agency's main app and others set up to share information on a wide range of health concerns.
